One-hundred and twenty-one lawyers at Australia’s leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, have been recognised with more than 330 listings, across 60 practice areas, in the latest Best Lawyers guide released recently.

Corrs is also one of only a handful of law firms in Australia to receive recognition as Law Firm of the Year in two separate areas of specialisation - Alternative Dispute Resolution and Construction and Infrastructure.

This year Corrs also saw nine of its lawyers listed as Lawyers of the Year in Best Lawyers, the only pure peer review-based guide for the legal profession. These included:

  • Michael MacGinley, Brisbane, Energy Law
  • Christine Maher, Brisbane, Funds Management
  • Helen Clarke, Brisbane, Intellectual Property
  • Michael Leong, Brisbane, Land Use and Zoning Law
  • Nicholas Ellery, Perth, Occupational Health & Safety Law
  • Philip Wilson, Perth, Real Property
  • Eddie Scuderi, Brisbane, Regulatory Practice
  • Daniel Marquet, Melbourne, Regulatory Practice
  • Henry Prokuda, Brisbane, Water Law

“The strong performance by Corrs and its lawyers in this year’s guide is testament to our people’s ongoing drive, passion and determination to deliver the best possible results for our clients,” said Corrs CEO and Partner John W.H. Denton AO.

“While acknowledging the pleasing result in the 2019 guide, I particularly wish to congratulate Philip Catania, John Walter, Andrew Stephenson and Carol Lee who this year celebrate a decade of continual recognition in Best Lawyers, a clear demonstration of their unwavering commitment and focus on their clients and their desired outcomes.”

Among the 121 Corrs lawyers listed in the guide, there were also six lawyers who featured for the first time, including:

  • Matthew Muir, Brisbane, Construction/Infrastructure
  • James Morley, Melbourne, Corporate Law
  • Jade Rowarth, Melbourne Insolvency and Reorganization Law
