Eddie also regularly acts in complex litigation matters appearing before the superior courts and tribunals on clients’ behalf. This has included patent infringement proceedings in the Federal Court, a High Court appeal over copyright issues, and International Arbitrations involving claims of breach of confidence and copyright.

  • BG Group $1 billion takeover Obtained ACCC clearance for BG’s $1 billion takeover of coal seam gas producer Pure Energy Resources.
  • Suncorp-Metway Limited Obtained ACCC clearances for Suncorp-Metway’ $7.8billion merger with Promina Group and for its acquisition of GIO, as well as advice on competition law issues across a range of transactions and joint ventures.
  • QR National Advises QR National on the competition law aspects of various commercial and regulatory arrangements and in respect of its Access Undertaking lodged with the Queensland Competition Authority.
  • Suncorp Metway off-shoring arrangements Advised on, negotiated and drafted off-shoring and outsourcing arrangements, including regulatory advice on outsourcing of material business activities.
  • Sucrogen (CSR Sugar) Advised Sucrogen in relation to research and development, commercialisation and licensing arrangements in respect of sugar production related technology and patents including the negotiation and drafting of complex legal arrangements and advice on plant breeder rights.
