Corrs pride week 2023
Corrs Pride Week 2023 focused on acknowledging the importance of allyship.

Between 25 August-1 September, we were delighted to connect with our people, clients and communities in celebration of Corrs Pride Week 2023 and this year’s theme, ‘Pride belongs here’.

Over the course of the week, we celebrated our LGBTIQ+ community through a variety of events and initiatives, which focused on acknowledging the importance of allyship.

We had the pleasure of listening to experts speak to the legal and psychological challenges of becoming a LGBTIQ+ parent in an inclusive parenting webinar. The webinar shared insights into how organisations and individuals can support parents going through IVF and surrogacy. In another webinar on current priorities for legal and legislative reform, we heard from Danielle Yung, Legal Policy Adviser at Equality Australia, who spoke to current LGBTIQ+ legislative reform.

We held events with clients across all our Australian offices, which featured discussions around the organisations’ LGBTIQ+ inclusion initiatives, progress and future plans. We also held events in Sydney and Melbourne with LGBTIQ+ students from the University of Melbourne, Monash, Deakin, Swinburne and the University of Sydney. In Sydney, a panel session focused on being out in the workplace, while the Melbourne event took the form of a round table.

Each office also held a social event in celebration of Wear it Purple Day 2023, from Drag Bingo in Sydney and Perth to Drag Trivia in Melbourne and a cocktail-making class in Brisbane.
