Sarah is an experienced partner in Corrs’ employment and labour team. She advises both public and private sector clients on the full spectrum of employment and labour related matters.

She is an expert adviser on difficult issues related to people, including complex terminations of employment, workplace investigations related to all forms of misconduct and workplace disputes – whether on an individual or collective basis.

In recent times, Sarah has been involved (either as investigator or adviser) in a number of challenging workplace investigations for both public and private sector clients. She also regularly presents to clients on conducting effective workplace investigations. Sarah has particular expertise in discrimination law, and has been a key adviser to the Victorian Government on this area for many years. Sarah is also a trusted adviser to ‘disruptive’ brands that have entered the Australian market, and has worked closely with them to navigate the complex regulatory environment whilst assisting them to achieve their business objectives.

During her time at Corrs, Sarah has been seconded to the international arbitration team at Uría Menéndez in Madrid, Spain, following which she has become a key member of the firm’s European Business Group. She has also spent time in-house with Australia Post, where she advised senior stakeholders on a range of workplace change issues, industrial disputes and general employment matters.

Sarah is the Australian representative for Ius Laboris, the Chambers Elite Global Employment Law Alliance.

Key deals

Australia Post

Sarah assisted Australia Post in respect to its national enterprise agreement for its operations covering in excess of 33,000 employees.

Department of Health and Human Services

Sarah advised DHHS in relation to its enterprise bargaining negotiations for its disability services workers.

Brickworks Ltd

Sarah advised and represented Brickworks Ltd in high profile Federal Court proceedings involving general protections claims being made by a former senior manager. The advice concerned the operation of the Corporations Act and the termination benefits cap and share plan entitlements.

Australia Post

Sarah acted for Australia Post in a significant claim brought against it by the CEPU and two individuals in relation to changes to its superannuation scheme and alleged breaches of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

Sarah has acted in numerous matters involving highly confidential investigations at the leadership level.

Deliveroo Australia Pty Ltd

Advising Deliveroo in relation to its operations in Australia, including advising on its workforce engagement strategy and regulatory investigations and inquiries.

State of Victoria - Department of Education and Training

Sarah has advised and assisted the Department in relation to significant allegations of disability discrimination in education under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth), disciplinary matters under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) and various workplace policy and procedural matters.
