Justin’s clients enjoy a truly world class offering.  Throughout his 25 years at Corrs, Justin has assisted global names such as BP, Cadbury, SAB Miller and Singapore Airlines to undertake strategic transactions in the Australian market. He moves easily across borders, having spent a large part of his early career working in South East Asia. 

Justin has applied his skills in foreign investment, takeovers, schemes of arrangement and private treaty M&A across a range of industries.  He is a recognised expert in the media and digital space, having been at the forefront of a number of transformational deals in that sector.  He advises ASX listed companies on their continuous disclosure and compliance obligations and regularly advises board members on directors’ duties.

Justin is admired for his practical and outcomes focussed approach. He finds innovative solutions to complex problems and enjoys the longstanding trust of some of the firm’s major clients.

  • BP Australia Advised on the sale of its Australian bitumen business and on the disposal of its South Australia fuel retail network.
  • REA Group Limited Advised REA on the establishment of a joint venture with NAB to build and operate an end to end digital property search and financing platform. This included the acquisition of majority shares in both the Smartline and Choice mortgage broking businesses and partnering arrangements with NAB for the development of a technical solution to support a digital offering. The transaction has been nominated as a finalist in the FT Innovative Lawyers Report and Awards for Asia Pacific.
  • Chemmart Advised the vendors on the $2 billion merger of Chemmart with Terry White Pharmacies.
  • RBS Equities Advised the Malaysian investment bank CIMB, on their acquisition of the regional equities business of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
  • Singapore Airlines Advised Singapore Airlines Limited on their participation in the $852 million entitlement offer in Virgin Australia Holdings Limited.
  • Symbion Acted for the owners of Symbion Health on the $1.3 billion merger with EBOS Group Limited.
  • SABMiller Advised SABMiller on the Australian aspects of the £71 billion global takeover offer received from ABI.
  • $740 million takeover offer for Austereo Group Lead the transaction team that advised Southern Cross Media Group on its $740 million takeover offer for Austereo Group. Justin provided advice on all aspects of the takeover including deal negotiation, due diligence, transaction financing and competition law aspects.
  • Foster’s Group Limited demerger Advised Foster’s on the demerger of Treasury Wine Estates Limited.
  • Liquidation of Timbercorp Group Justin was the principal adviser to KordaMentha, the liquidators of the Timbercorp Group, on the realisation of more than $500 million of plantation assets.
