An experienced insurance and professional indemnity lawyer, Tsharna has particular expertise in health law.
Tsharna has acted on behalf of a number of major insurers in relation to claims instituted against professionals – including medical and allied health professionals, real estate agents, building inspectors, architects, draftspersons and engineers.
Her work includes handling claims in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts of Queensland, Queensland Court of Appeal and regular appearances in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Tsharna regularly assists health practitioners and hospitals in responding to complaints and investigations being undertaken by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Office of the Health Ombudsman, in addition to coronial investigations and inquests.
Tsharna is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland.
She provides pro bono legal advice and volunteers in Ardoch’s Literacy Buddies program, supporting and mentoring school students facing disadvantage in the community.
