Tara advises on all aspects of employment and workplace relations law, acting for national and international clients across industries including aviation, tertiary education, transport and logistics, emergency services, government and the not-for-profit sector.
Her practice spans both litigious and advisory matters across the full employment lifecycle — from engagement through to termination — including award coverage, misconduct, performance management, sensitive workplace investigations and dismissal. An accomplished litigator, Tara represents clients in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Courts in significant industrial disputes and claims involving alleged unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and historical underpayments.
Tara has particular expertise in leading large-scale employment projects such as payroll compliance and remediation programs, as well as managing subsequent regulatory engagement (including responding to regulatory investigations). She also advises on corporate transactions, with a focus on employee-related implications.
She also advises on all aspects of industrial relations including bargaining strategy, agreement drafting, approval processes and industrial action.
Having undertaken secondments with two major corporates, Tara brings a strong commercial lens to her legal advice. She is an active member of the Industrial Relations Society of Victoria and is currently on an overseas secondment with a top-tier law firm in Germany.
