An experienced insolvency lawyer, Michelle specialises in complex, high-value domestic and multi-jurisdictional insolvencies and distressed situations. She has considerable experience advising on all aspects of security enforcement and insolvent estates. 

Michelle also has extensive experience in commercial dispute resolution and regularly provides strategic advice, leading and coordinating complex commercial disputes.  She has advised on priority, contractual and banking disputes and misleading and deceptive conduct claims. Michelle has acted on a number of matters involving allegations of fraud and has experience as a key adviser in civil, criminal and regulatory investigations. 

Michelle practiced in London for a number of years and has acted on a range of cross-border restructurings, insolvencies and security enforcements. She has taken a leading role on a number of insolvency and enforcement assignments in the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States.

Acting for Deloitte as administrators of Fintyre Group, a tyre wholesale and distribution business operating in the UK, Germany, Italy and France.

PwC

Acting for PwC as administrators of Lehman Brothers Limited, the UK service entity for the Lehman Brothers group. Included settlement of £1 billion of intra-group claims, advising on a priority dispute between various classes of creditors, employee and pensions claims and creditor distributions.

Credit Suisse

Advising Credit Suisse in a priority dispute between a swap provider and noteholders arising out of a securitisation of a nursing home operator.

A hedge fund

Advising hedge funds as lenders under a mezzanine facility secured by energy assets in Argentina held through a BVI and Canadian structure, including on enforcement of security.
