Matthew specialises in major commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring. He has acted in a range of high profile and complex disputes involving financial services, corporate finance, corporate governance and shareholder issues.

Matthew has also acted in some of Australia’s largest insolvencies, advising banks, investors, creditors, directors and insolvency professionals, and helping them to mitigate risk.

Matthew is a member of both the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association and the Turnaround Management Association.

Acted for the trustee of Australia’s largest public/private infrastructure project on high profile disputes across a number of jurisdictions.


Acted for liquidators in a major Australian corporate collapse involving the sale of forestry assets of more than A$350 million and major disputes concerning the operations of a wood chipping terminal and fruit and vegetable plantations.

Acted in a major corporate governance dispute involving off-shore share trading scheme involving more than 50 companies and trades exceeding US$500 million.
