An experienced senior lawyer, Lena advises clients on front end transactions in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

Lena has experience working directly with project teams, senior management teams, parent companies, external counsel and counterparties on numerous complex major projects, including PPP projects, and acts for both public and private sector participants.

In addition to private practice, Lena has notable experience in-house. This includes significant periods of time with both a renewable energy developer and a general infrastructure developer, spanning the Australian and international markets.

Key deals

RES Australia

Advising RES Australia in the development of Murra Warra II Wind Farm, Dulacca Wind Farm and Avonlie Solar Farm, from project inception with land exclusivity arrangements through to project sale.

Additionally, advising RES Australia on the Sunraysia Solar Farm in the drafting and negotiation of the Asset Management Agreement, including ongoing support to the asset management team and, separately, advising RES Australia on the development of the Templers BESS project from land acquisition and feasibility consultant engagement through to preparation for future potential sale.

Transport for NSW

Advising Transport for NSW in the A$2.1 billion Sydney Light Rail PPP Project, which involved negotiating and drafting various transaction documents, specifically the third-party agreements with land owners and key stakeholders including University of NSW, Australian Turf Club and Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.

Sydney Motorway Corporation

Advising Sydney Motorway Corporation in the A$14.9 billion WestConnex Motorway Project. Working as a party of a large complex team on the tolling regime across the Motorway, including project and resource management, drafting and negotiating on complex issues and working directly with the client business.

Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority

Advising on the A$30 million redevelopment of heritage-listed site Campbell's Stores at The Rocks, for the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, including the negotiation of commercial issues and contract documentation, project management and acting as main point of contact between both the public and private sector participants to ensure a commercial, legal and socially optimal outcome was achieved to proceed with development.

Leighton Asia India and Offshore

Advising Leighton Asia India and Offshore on the bid for the 3,300 km Delhi Dedicated Freight Corridor valued at JP¥295 billion, working in a multi-national joint consortium in Delhi to negotiate and prepare bid documentation.

Macquarie Bank ADCB

Advising the Macquarie Bank ADCB joint venture in its US$2.65 billion bid for the Mafraq-Gweifat Highway project, which involved liaising with multiple stakeholders including the bank and Department of Transport, preparing and drafting tender documentation.
