A specialist environment and planning lawyer, Julia has experience working on matters for major residential projects, resource projects, transport infrastructure projects and industrial developments and advertising/signage.
Julia also has experience working on complex property and infrastructure transactions, acting in significant Land and Environment Court litigation matters and advising on contamination, pollution, renewables and mining and resources issues.
She has advised on water licensing and management in both the resource and agricultural industries, as well as on developer contributions including numerous high value and complex voluntary planning agreements for some of the largest development projects in NSW.
Julia has represented a number of clients in Land and Environment Court appeal proceedings for retail, residential, childcare, service station, mining, resources, seniors living developments and administrative law appeals.
Acting for Stockland on its greenfields residential subdivision (4,500 lots) in the NSW North West Growth Centre including advising on a variety of planning and environmental matters, acting on the local and state voluntary planning agreements and water infrastructure.
Working on MACH Energy Australia’s Mount Pleasant open cut coal mining project including acting on civil enforcement court proceedings brought against MACH by the owners of a neighbouring mine in the Land and Environment Court and advising on water licensing matters.
Acting on behalf of the Australian Turf Club, Randwick City Council and the University of NSW in relation to the Sydney Light Rail Development Agreements.
Advising on a number of solar, wind farm and hydro renewable energy projects touching on Commonwealth environmental referrals/approvals, planning and environmental issues.
Acting on the voluntary planning agreement for Green Square with the City of Sydney relating to the delivery of green infrastructure and trigeneration.
Acted on Gunlake’s Marulan Quarry Extension Project appeal in the Land and Environment Court.
Acting for LWP in relation to its Huntlee New Town Development (7,500 residential lots) including Land and Environment Court and Court of Appeal proceedings, various planning agreement negotiations and environmental, biodiversity, aboriginal cultural heritage and planning issues.
Acting for Frasers in relation to the Edmondson Park Town Centre including a variety of planning matters and the negotiation of the local voluntary planning agreement.
