Fran specialises in transactions and advice related to the ownership, procurement, commercialisation and other dealings with intellectual property and technology.

Fran advises on a range of related regulatory compliance areas (including franchising, data privacy, data breaches, therapeutic goods, food standards and export of dual use technologies).

Her clients include some of the world’s largest companies, particularly in energy and resources, infrastructure and engineering as well as the food and health industries, universities, hospitals and research institutes. She is also actively involved in the support of the start-up sector and has dual qualifications in Law and Science.

Fran is a member (and former committee member) of the Licensing Executives Society.

Large oil and gas companies

Fran has acted for a number of oil and gas companies in relation to the development and licensing of cutting edge technologies and R&D collaborations. The licensing issues are often complex and unique.

Health and medical research

Fran provides licensing and commercialisation advice to a range of health companies (including some of the world’s leading research institutions) on the commercialisation of new technologies (including digital health solutions).


Fran is regularly called on to deliver presentations in the franchising industry and is always at the forefront of thinking and writing in the franchise sector. Fran has acted for a wide range of clients over many years, both franchisors and large franchisees.

Mining companies

Fran has acted for a large Australian mining company on its procurement of technology packages to facilitate remote and automated operations from the mine site to the port.


Fran advises clients in the public and private sector on issues relating to data privacy, data commercialisation and sharing and data breach management.
