An experienced litigator known for her practical and strategic approach, Alicia specialises in restructuring and insolvency and major commercial litigation.

She advises corporates and lenders in all areas of financial services dispute resolution including restructures, contentious disputes and regulatory investigations.

Alicia is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria (WIRV). She is also a board member and deputy chair of the not-for-profit organisation Limbs4life.

Financial services dispute resolution

  • Seconded to one of the major banks to assist with its response to the Financial Services Royal Commission
  • Acting for financial institutions and superannuation funds in respect of ASIC and AFCA investigations
  • Assisting financial services clients to mediate and defend significant claims brought by customers including in respect of responsible lending breaches, misleading and deceptive conduct and breaches of statutory duties
  • Acting for a major bank in relation to an ACCC investigation into syndicated lending practices

Restructuring and insolvency

  • Acted for the liquidators in the collapse and subsequent asset sales of the Home Australia Group in the residential construction industry
  • Acting for the receivers and managers of a luxury accommodation resort
  • Acting for the receivers of an end-to-end grower and supplier of Wagyu beef
  • Advising the key creditor and franchisor in the trading administration of an international fashion brand
  • Advising the administrators of the Keeforce Group, a large logistics business
