Structured learning

Grads 2024v3

Corrs Graduate Academy

At the start of the lawyer development program, we bring all our graduates together in one location for a multi-day learning experience, where you can meet with your peers, learn and have fun.

At the Graduate Academy, you will:

  • Get a taste of what your career as a lawyer with Corrs will be like;
  • Hear from current graduates, senior lawyers and partners about life at Corrs as they share their expertise, insights and experiences;
  • Meet clients and hear first-hand how Corrs partners with them and what we've achieved together; and
  • Kick-start your core skills training with sessions on clear legal writing, excellent client service, effective problem-solving and team work.
Orientation

There's a lot to learn when you're starting out in your career and we make sure you get the right support from the beginning. Comprehensive orientation programs are held in your local office, including training in research skills and our systems and processes.

Practical Legal Training and admission

You'll need to complete Practical Legal Training (PLT) to be admitted as a lawyer in Australia. Our in-house PLT program is run by the College of Law and includes face-to-face workshops, online coursework and work experience.

Practice group rotations

Our practice group rotations allow you to gain hands-on experience and exposure to different areas of law. In our structured 24-month program, you will complete one 12-month rotation, followed by two six-month rotations. An extended placement for your first 12-months will allow you to build your capabilities through practical experience and to develop a strong relationship with your mentor partner and team.
