Advised US-based, Sazerac, the owner of liquor brands including Fireball Whiskey and Southern Comfort, on its acquisition of 75 per cent of alcohol distribution and sale company, Southtrade International Pty Ltd (STI) from Pinnacle Liquor Group, a member of the Woolworths Group. This transaction marked a key stage in Sazerac’s engagement with the Australian market, following the positive reception of Sazerac’s brands by Australian consumers. Saazerac will run STI as a 75/25 joint venture with Pinnacle, and will distribute Sazerac’s brands as well as a broader range of alcohols.
