Jane Hider




Jane has over 20 years’ experience in construction and infrastructure, as well as government advisory. She specialises in conventionally-funded government major projects and procurement, commercial development, transport and energy.

She has experience in all forms of construction and infrastructure procurement (PPP, D&C, DBOM and O&M), collaborative models (alliancing, ECI, framework agreements and delivery partner) and consultancy arrangements.

Jane works with government clients to structure their approaches to market, and gives tendering and probity advice. She is regularly asked to peer review delivery models and project documentation, and to investigate probity compliance. Jane has also worked with government agencies to develop and implement supply and procurement policies.

In the renewable energy sector, she advises developers, contractors, generators and government agencies.

Jane is a member of Corrs' Board and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Key deals

Victorian Renewable Energy Target – 2018 Reverse Auction

Acting for the Victorian State Government (Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning) to assist in the negotiation of the support agreement and related documents with three shortlisted bidders on the 650 MW reverse auction and provide ongoing contract administration advice and support.

Victoria Police HQ – 311 Spencer Street Melbourne

Acting for Victoria Police on the market-led proposal submitted by Cbus and Australia Post for the development of its new purpose built HQ in Melbourne CBD (lease value A$606 million). Jane drafted and negotiated process deeds with the proponent, drafted related agreements such as MOUs with subtenants and assisted with the negotiation of transaction documentation (lease and development agreement) with the proponent.

Caydon Property Group – Malt District

Acting for Caydon on the structuring, contract and delivery documentation for the design and construction of the five stages comprising the Malt District, a A$1.1 billion mixed residential and commercial development in an inner Melbourne heritage site.

South Melbourne Primary School

Advising the Department of Education and Training on the delivery of the new South Melbourne Primary School, the first vertically integrated primary school in Victoria, including structuring, tender and contract documentation, contract administration advice and advice on utility and adjoining owner issues.

Toyota Motor Corporation Limited – New Facility

Advising Toyota on the structuring and delivery of a new parts and accessories facility in Western Sydney being delivered by a property developer on a turnkey and lease or purchase basis.

Coles – Technology Centres

Advising Coles on the development of two new technology centres (value A$950 million) on a turnkey and lease basis including advice on structuring, supply, design and delivery documentation and arrangements with consultants, suppliers and developers.
