John recently attended his fifth Australia-China CEO Roundtable and was pleased to say that it was the most informed and forward-looking group on both sides.
It was obvious that Prime Minister Turnbull and President Xi Jinping have developed a good rapport and want only the best for their respective nations. It was encouraging to see that the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has sent a positive signal within China about Australia.
Presenting at the roundtable on Opportunities flowing from the diversification of the Australia-China economic relationship John stressed that as China’s growth model and focus changes, there are big adjustments that will need to be made. We have a vital opportunity for both our countries to think about how to shape the future course of our relationship in a deliberate way, establishing some common reference points rather than trying to guess what’s coming over the horizon.
At Corrs we know this all too well. With the legal and business environments fluctuating and in a state of regular disruption we have identified certain fundamental structures, values and capabilities that will enable us to be agile and respond to the changing market. Strategy@Corrs will ensure that we are perfectly placed to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities that are certain to come our way in these exciting times.
