Foreign investment flows have become increasingly important in underpinning international commerce. Foreign investment is particularly important to Australia, with foreign capital accounting for half of Australia’s total capital stock. But Australia is not alone, as foreign investment contributes to productivity and competitiveness in many countries – whether they have developed of developing economies.
