Action to liberalise global trade and investment
Australia and Canada share a strong commitment to multilateral trade and investment liberalisation. Both nations were among the 23 signatories to the first General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade that was signed in 1947 and came into force the following year.
The shared aim of both nations should be to see that trade and investment liberalisation continues to be a major driver of global economic growth in the first half of the 21st century - just as it was in the second half of the 20th century. How can we help make this a reality?
