He has been based in some of the world’s commercial epicentres including London, Hong Kong, Beijing and Melbourne, where he has been a partner of first tier national law firms and also a director and group general counsel for one of the largest global media groups.
Specialising in advising boards and chief and other senior executives, he has been involved in major mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, for more than twenty five years. Peter applies, for the benefit of his clients, a unique insight garnered from his own involvement in corporate decision making over almost three decades.
An acknowledged leader in the provision of legal services to the media sector, he also has many clients in the telecommunications, financial services and manufacturing sectors, and participates at board level with a number of public charitable organisations.

- Parliamentary and Other Inquiries Appeared before various inquiries, including the Parliamentary Inquiry into Regional Radio conducted by the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications Transport and Arts in 2001, the Senate Inquiry into the Broadcasting Services Amendment Bills in 2002, the Senate Inquiry into the Cross Media Amendment Bills in 2006, and the Productively Commission Inquiry into Broadcasting in 2004.
- Broadcasting and Telecommunications Licensing Advised Telstra on successful bids for mobile telecommunications licences between 1992 and 1998, advised Daily Mail on successful bids for commercial radio broadcasting licences between 1996 and 2004, advised Foxtel on successful bits for subscription television licences between 1996 and 1999, and now advises Vodafone Hutchison, DMG Radio Australia and Southern Cross Media on licensing matters.
- Commercial Radio Australia Prepared draft licence area plans and variations, and draft technical specifications, under the broadcasting services legislation, between 1996 and 2006, and represented CRA and DMG Radio Australia with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission, and the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
