As an experienced practitioner in project & infrastructure finance, structured asset & trade finance, corporate & acquisition finance and restructuring & workouts, Jeremy has established a reputation for providing commercially astute solutions and delivering timely results for clients such as ANZ, NAB, CBA, Macquarie Bank, GE Capital, BTMU, ING Bank, the CEFC, and Ambac Assurance Corp. He also acts for sponsors bidding for, or developing, major infrastructure projects in the power, renewable energy, water, resources and health care sectors and has a strong corporate client base (including SEEK, REA, Linfox, BP Australia, Dutch Infrastructure Fund, Amex Resources, Zijin Mining Group, Yankuang Group, Orora and nbn co).

His keen ability to add insight beyond the immediate legal issues has made Jeremy an integral asset on major deals.

Jeremy is also the Chairman of Corrs' Pro Bono & Community program.  He actively advises not-for-profits, government and social enterprises in areas of social finance and impact investment (including social benefit bonds). He is an outspoken advocate for innovation to address problems such as mental health issues, recidivism, and homelessness.

  • SEEK Limited Advised on all of SEEK’s debt financing arrangements including its A$465 million syndicated financing arrangements. Advised on all Australian law and cross border security issues arising from the takeover of the Jobseeker.com group of companies.
  • REA Group Limited Advised on all of REA’s debt financing arrangements including its syndicated financing arrangements. Advised on all Australian finance and securities law issues arising from the takeover of the iProperty group of companies.
  • ACSO and National Australia Bank Advised on their joint investment in the New South Wales social impact investment into recidivism. This was only the third publicly procured social impact investment in Australia and the first where a major bank invested directly in the program.
  • Confidential bidder Advised on its proposed investment in the Queensland social impact bond into recidivism. This is the pilot SIB program in Queensland.
  • NSW Federation of Housing Associations Advised on the legal, regulatory and governance issues facing the proposed social & affordable housing finance intermediary.
  • Royalla Solar Farm Advised the successful bidder (an offshore infrastructure fund) on all aspects of the debt and refinancing for the Royalla Solar Farm.
  • Bald Hills Wind Farm Advised the syndicate of project financiers the Bald Hills Wind Farm project; Australia’s only utility-scale, renewable energy project financing without an investment grade offtaker.
  • Zijin Mining Group Advised on financing and legal structuring issues in support of its acquisition from Barrick Gold of a 50% interest in the Porgera gold mine in Papua New Guinea.
  • Murray & Roberts Advised on Australian law financing issues arising from the listed takeover of Clough Limited.
  • AMEX Resources Advised on financing and legal structuring issues in relation to the structured asset financing in support of its development of the Mba Delta iron sands mine in Fiji.
  • Linfox Property Group Advised on the self-arranged club facility for the financing of over 50 properties around Australia. ANZ, NAB and HSBC were the financiers.
  • Hedland Precinct Power Station Advised on financing and security issues surrounding the Hedland Precinct Power Station related to the insolvency of construction contractor, Forge Group.
  • Ambac Advised on all current Australian exposures of Ambac Assurance Corp, including Citipower, Powercor, the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline and Broadcast Australia.
  • Muja A&B power station refurbishment Advised Vinalco (a subsidiary of Synergy) on financing issues in relation to the refurbishment of the Muja A&B coal-fired power station and involving ANZ, NAB and GE as lenders. This was a challenging project from a technological and a political perspective, due to issues around carbon emissions reduction.
  • Key social infrastructure PPPs throughout Australia Advised the successful bidding consortia for state-based projects that will deliver outstanding and vital social assets. This includes the Perth CBD Courts PPP in WA; the Southbank Education and Training Precinct PPP in Queensland; the Royal Children’s Hospital PPP in Victoria; the Mundaring Water Treatment Plant PPP in WA; and the restructure of the “Waratah” Rolling Stock PPP in NSW.
  • Aspire Mining coking coal project in Mongolia Advised Aspire Mining on financing issues in relation to the development of its coking coal project, and related rail infrastructure, in Mongolia.
