Brad specialises in large scale, complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class actions and product liability claims. He has acted on a number of the country’s largest class actions in both the financial services and products arenas.

In addition to his class action expertise, Brad regularly advises on commercial and retail property-related disputes, including in connection with contamination and development issues.

Key deals

IOOF Holdings

Acted on behalf of IOOF and subsidiary AET in two related class actions before the NSW Supreme Court, which concerned a failed debenture issuer. Litigation involved cross claims against insurers, broker and auditors.

Thiess Services

Represented Thiess Services in defence of a series of claims by over 500 plaintiffs arising from a bush fire incident in Western Australia in 2014. The litigation involved cross-claims against the government (Western Power) and property owners.

Commonwealth of Australia

Represented the Commonwealth in class action (and associated litigation) commenced by former sponsors of Pan Pharmaceuticals arising from the cancellation of Pan’s regulatory licence.

The Trust Company

Acted in defence of a class action brought by noteholders of the failed Australian Capital Reserve alleging breaches of the trustee’s statutory duties.

Muso Co Ltd

Represented the Japanese distributor of Bonsoy in defence of the largest food safety case in Australian litigation history.
