Andrew’s expertise is noted by a number of external associations. He was a consultant to the Australian Law Reform Commission in its review of Australia’s customs legislation and has been appointed to the International Monetary Fund’s Panel of experts as a specialist in customs law and administration.
His distinguished track record also includes representing clients and the Law Council of Australia before the Economics Select Committee of the Australian Parliament in its review of legislation to amend Australia’s anti-dumping legislation.
Andrew is also heavily involved with the Law Council of Australia and lectures at post graduate level in international trade law and customs law.

- Anti-dumping and subsidy investigations Advising and assisting clients, including foreign governments, Rio Tinto, LG Electronics and JELD-WEN, in a numerous cases including major high-profile dumping and countervailing duty investigations. As well as representing clients in appeals to the Trade Measures Review Officer and, where necessary, the Federal Court of Australia.
- WTO Provision of advice and assistance on WTO compliance issues and availability of trade remedies to remedy non-compliance, as well as opportunities and challenges that the WTO and other trade agreements provide to businesses operating in Australia and/or overseas.
- Free Trade Agreements Provision of advice on the opportunities and challenges free trade agreements provide to businesses to minimise market access restrictions, including liaising with relevant government authorities.
- Customs Advising and assisting clients on customs tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, duty concessions, duty refunds and representing clients in disputes with the Australian Customs Service before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Court of Australia.
- International transactions Advising and assisting clients in international transactions including international sale of goods, distribution agreements, joint ventures, foreign investment rules and technology transfer licenses.
