With a reputation as one of Australia’s leading telecommunications lawyers, Andrew is at the forefront of the convergence of the communications, media and technology sectors.

In 2008 he was appointed specialist legal adviser to the Australian Government on its National Broadband Network Project. He continues to advise NBN Co Limited, the company established to roll out the $43 billion National Broadband Network and the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, as well as other major international and domestic telecommunications clients - SBC Communications, Telstra and Vodafone.

Before joining Corrs in 2007, Andrew was a partner with another leading law firm for 12 years including three years running the Hanoi office. He spent three years in the commercial practice of Freshfields in London and has also practised in Singapore.

Andrew is the leader of Corrs Corporate and Finance Division and a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team. This demonstrates both his leadership and management capabilities.

  • NBN Co Limited Andrew advises on a range of matters for NBN Co relating to the establishment of the organisation, including providing regulatory, corporate and procurement advice.
  • Department of Broadband Communications and the Digital Economy Advising on the National Broadband Network project, the establishment of USO Co, including potential investment structures, technology procurement issues and regulatory issues.
  • Vodafone Hutchison Australia Advised Vodafone on various matters including the 3G Network rollout in Australia and NZ; alliance with Singtel Optus for the sharing of 3G Network infrastructure (which won the 2005 ALB Telecommunications Deal of the Year Award); the outsourcing to Nokia of the operation and maintenance of Vodafone’s 2G and 3G networks; and the merger of the Vodafone Australia and Hutchison “3” businesses in Australia.
  • $2.25 billion acquisition of Coca-Cola bottling in the Philippines Advised San Miguel on the sale of its 25% shareholding in Coca-Cola Amatil and the $2.25 billion acquisition of the Coca-Cola bottling business in the Philippines.
