Corrs' securities team is a national group of lawyers with extensive practical experience representing issuers, underwriters and institutional purchasers in the full range of international and domestic public and private offerings and institutional private placements of debt, equity and hybrid securities of every type.

Our lawyers advise on all types of takeovers (counsel to both bidders and target companies), schemes of arrangements, privatisation transactions, negotiated debt restructuring, spin-offs and offerings of derivative securities and have experience in virtually every field of corporate, securities and commercial law relevant to the Australian securities market. Corrs are also involved in private equity, leveraged and management buyout transactions.

The Australian securities laws are complex and new issues can arise quickly, requiring change in aspects of market practice. We understand that a responsive, efficient approach is critical. Our lawyers work closely with clients to understand their objectives and provide creative, business oriented and practical solutions to the issues that occur.

Corrs' securities team brings together expertise from across the firm including corporate, banking and finance and litigation. In structuring and implementing transactions or providing advice on securities matters, our lawyers work with other Corrs practice groups to secure the necessary expertise in those specialised areas, such as revenue, workplace relations, trade practices and environmental law, and a wide range of industry sectors including manufacturing, gaming, financial services, energy, telecommunications, transportation, mining, chemicals, relevant to the transaction.
