John specialises in insolvency and commercial litigation and has advised administrators, liquidators, receivers, banks, bank syndicates and creditors on a wide range of workouts and external administrations.

John is experienced in reconstructions and workouts and in pursuing recovery actions on behalf of liquidators and receivers and has acted for clients in defending claims brought by liquidators. John has acted on behalf of insolvency practitioners from a range of firms such as KordaMentha, PPB, Ernst & Young and Ferrier Hodgson. Most recently, John has acted for the Liquidators of Timbercorp, the Receivers and Managers of Allco Finance Group and of Raptis Group Limited. He has also acted for the Administrators of Ansett.

John is also listed as a leading lawyer for insolvency and restructuring in Chambers Global 2009 and 2010.

John has also acted in a wide range of commercial and property disputes and litigation for major corporate clients, a range of government departments and the University of Melbourne. John has also defended clients in relation to proceedings brought by regulators such as ASIC and APRA.
