Energy and Resources Issues: A New Access Undertaking for Queensland Rail

It is anticipated that Queensland Rail (QR) will soon have a new approved access undertaking under the Queensland Competition Authority Act 1997 (QCA Act). This article outlines:

• the sequence of events from the initial undertaking notice issued by the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) to the submission of a new draft access undertaking by QR; and
• some key changes from QR’s draft access undertaking of 30 April 2004 included in the latest draft access undertaking submitted to the QCA by QR.
