On 17 June 2009, the Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard introduced into Parliament the Building Construction Industry Improvement Amendment (Transition to Fair Work) Bill 2009 (Cth) (the Bill).
The Bill will amend the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 (Cth) (the BCII Act) largely to implement the recommendations of the Honourable Murray Wilcox QC in his report entitled Transition to Fair Work Australia for the Building and Construction Industry (Wilcox Report).
