Corrs In Brief: The ACCC's revised immunity policy and the Commonwealth DPP17 June 2009
The amendments brought about by the Trade Practices Amendment (Cartel Conduct and Other Measures) Act 2009 (Cartel Amendment) provide for criminal penalties for cartel conduct. As the same conduct can now be dealt with on both a criminal and civil basis, the ACCC and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) have released a package of materials which set out how immunity applications will be handled, when immunity will be granted and to whom.
