Asialaw recognises Corrs Partners28 June 2007
Corrs Partner and CEO, John Denton, along with Partners Stephen Stern, Matthew Swinn and Dominic Emmett, have been recognised as Asialaw Leading Lawyers for 2007. John Denton was recognised for his expertise in Labour Law, Dominic Emmett in Reconstruction and Insolvency, and Stephen Stern and Matthew Swinn in Intellectual Property and Technology.
The Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey has been conducted annually since 1995 by Asia Law & Practice, a specialist division of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. In this year’s survey, over 16,000 law firm clients and legal professionals were invited to nominate lawyers who, in their opinion, have consistently excelled in particular fields of legal practice over the years.
The selection of four Corrs partners by clients and peers continues recent market and industry recognition of Corrs' commitment to providing clients with access to lawyers who are recognised as the best in their fields and to delivering effective, commercial advice that brings about real results.
Corrs recently received a Project Finance Deal of the Year Award for its work on the RailCorp Rollingstock PPP at the ALB Australasian Law Awards. Corrs played a major role in the transaction, acting for the Downer EDI group in its successful bid for RailCorp’s project to finance, design, manufacture and maintain 78 eight-car electric passenger trains for the Sydney CityRail network. Valued at $3.6 billion, it is one of the largest PPP projects to be undertaken worldwide.
Corrs has also established itself as one of Australia’s leading law firm employers through its commitment to creating an inspiring workplace where people can build successful careers.
The firm recently received an Employer of Choice for Women citation from the Federal Government's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) and took out the Employer of Choice Award at the 2006 Australian Law Awards. Corrs was also voted as the best law firm in Australia for work environment and career advancement prospects in an independent survey undertaken by Asialaw magazine.
