Corrs boosts its corporate and litigation expertise

Corrs Chambers Westgarth continues to strengthen its national capability and depth of expertise in its corporate and litigation practice areas with the appointment of two new partners, Byron Koster and Simon Crawford.

The latest appointments continue the successful execution of Corrs 2010 strategy, which is driving the firm's reputation as one of Australia's fastest growing and most successful law firms with its strong focus on performance excellence, developing deep working relationships with clients, offering outstanding commercial advice and creating an inspiring workplace.

Byron has joined Corrs Corporate Advisory Group in Sydney and will further strengthen the depth and quality of the firm’s M&A practice. He is an expert in regulated and negotiated mergers and acquisitions and securities law, and a member of the Takeovers Panel. Byron is currently acting for the Challenger Infrastructure Fund in connection with the approach made to it by CBG. Byron was a partner in Blake Dawson's Corporate Group from 2001.

Simon Crawford has joined Corrs Litigation Group in Melbourne and will also undertake a broader role of expanding opportunities in the Structured Finance and Institutional Banking practice areas of Corrs. Simon brings a wealth of skills developed in his former role as Deputy General Counsel, Institutional, where he was Head of the legal function for ANZ's Institutional Division. Simon has over 13 years of dispute resolution experience and has managed many of ANZ's largest litigious exposures over the past seven years. Simon also has experience managing large litigation overseas, with extensive experience in India. As business conducted by Australian companies in India continues to increase, this expertise will be invaluable in differentiating Corrs' litigation practice.
