Michael provides corporate (including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, debt and equity raisings), commercial, construction and engineering, regulatory, project and project finance advice to clients on major projects and transactions in Australia and overseas (principally Europe, Middle East, North Asia and South East Asia).

Michael for clients across a diverse range of industries principally:

• energy (including renewable energy) – all aspects and advising all sectors of the industry, and providers of finance; mining - all aspects, including project development and project finance and trade finance;
• heavy and light manufacturing and fabrication – all aspects, with particular expertise in advising the steel and ship building industries;
• oil and gas - all aspects of upstream, midstream (including pipeline development) and downstream development (including project finance) and acquisition;
• LNG – all aspects acting for developers (upstream, midstream and downstream), and acting on both buy and sell side;
• ports and shipping - all aspects, including asset acquisition and finance and infrastructure development and finance, and long standing expertise advising on charterparties and contracts of carriage generally;
• rail - all aspects of passenger and freight rail infrastructure developments and operations, construction and engineering, rolling stock procurement and leasing and finance;
• telecommunications – all aspects, but with particular expertise in regulatory advice, principally on third party access and pricing;
• transport and logistics - all aspects of the commercial contracts between participants, whether providers of services or customers;
• water - all aspects, including waste water treatment and biosolid treatment projects; and
• waste and waste processing - all aspects, including procurement and acting for sponsors on waste processing facility developments, including acquisition and project finance.

Michael joined Corrs in 2003. Before joining Corrs, Michael was a partner at Clayton Utz, which he joined from Andersen Legal where he was an Andersen Worldwide Partner. Michael is qualified in both New South Wales and in England and Wales. Before moving to Australia, Michael worked at Denton Hall (now Denton Wilde Sapte) in London, then one of the UK's leading energy and resources and transport practices.
