Kylie Brown's a senior associate practising in the Litigation Division. From August 2006 to August 2008, Kylie was job sharing General Counsel for World Youth Day 2008 (WYD08). WYD08 was the largest event ever hosted by Australia. Kylie was responsible for every aspect of legal work including sponsorship agreements with some of Australia’s leading organisations including Qantas and News Limited; procurement and supply contracts ranging from chocolates to catering and clothes; licence agreements for the sale and use of merchandise from stamps to souvenir jewellery; commercial venue and commercial leasing contracts from State owned facilities to privately owned entertainment venues; accommodation contracts across NSW from 5 star hotels to basic backpacking accommodation; insurance advisory and policy work; copyright and trademark issues including trademark registrations and infringements; all aspects of employment law from OH&S training to employment contracts and hiring policies; drafting of internal policies from gifts/benefits to use of mobile phones; performance/artistic procurement for some of Australia’s leading performers; media advisory; defamation and contractual arrangements and general corporate governance and advisory work including the application of FOI Legislation.
